Sacks of Kameeldoring Sun-Dried African Firewood

Kameeldoring has the lowest moisture content of any of our firewood and possibly any firewood in the world. It is baked by the African sun to between a 1-2 % moisture content (compare this to air-dried woods at around 18-25% and kiln dried wood at around 8-12%). Kameeldoring, similar to our Sekelbos Firewood, has an ultra low moisture content due to the lack of water in its habitat and then the job is finished off by the unforgiving African sun.

The benefits of this low moisture content, dense and beautiful African Firewood include:

- An amazing long/slow burn time

- Virtually zero smoke production

- No wasted energy (burning off excess moisture) giving the very best return in calorific value

- Packed in clean, easy to handle 20kg (approximately) large polypropylene sacks

Kameeldoring burns with minimal flame, an aromatic fragrance and creates serious amounts of charcoal, so great for use on a BBQ or braai. This is a superb cooking wood and can also be burnt on fire pits and chimneas.

Our Kameeldooring firewood is responsibly cropped with governmental co-operation with local landowners and farmers. Our firewood is taken from the branches that fall from the trees due to their exceptional heavy weight. Axes must be incredibly sharp to split this firewood.

Available in single 20kg sacks, pallets of 10 x 20kg sacks, pallets of 20 x 20kg sacks and 30 x 20kg sacks.

The pallets of 10, 20 and 30 sacks are delivered on a burnable wooden pallet to your kerbside by our nationwide pallet courier.

To encourage air flow around your logs, we recommend that you store them in a raised log store or on a pallet to keep your logs away from moist ground. We do not recommend stacking them up against a wall or placing them on grass, as air won't be able to flow and the logs can become damp.

For ease when building your fire, we recommend our boxes/nets of kindling and our Ecofire Natural Firelighters.
