BBQ season is coming! Add a unique subtle flavour to your food this summer with our oak chips and shavings.
Oak is considered to be the most versatile of the hardwoods, it delivers a strong yet, not too overpowering flavour and particularly suited for beef brisket and pork cuts, poultry and vegetables. Just put around the coals when ready for cooking they will fill your food with a nice smokey flavour.
If you are using wood chips for the first time, the amount of chips used will determine amount of flavour in your cooking, therefore start off with a small amount, like a handful and 'feel' your way to perfect flavor.
Consider soaking your chips approximately 20-30 minutes before grilling if you want to do some 'smoking'. This helps to bring out more of the 'wood aroma'.
These chip and shavings are produced at our yard from waste material from various sawmilling processes - all FSC certified so you can be fully certain that this is the cleanest, most environmentally friendly product. These are not mass produced and you will not find these on sale in the supermarket chains.
