Birch although a hardwood is less dense than most other hardwoods and therefore lights more easily and reaches temperature very quickly. When you receive your firewoodandlogs kiln dried firewood you can tell which of the logs is birch by weight (it will weigh the least) and the bark which is a silvery colour and generally quite flaky. Although you can start and enjoy your fire with any of the quality kiln dried logs that we supply, birch will get you up to temperature fastest!
